Apprenticeships: The Other Four-Year Degree

Launch a real career—without student debt.

Union apprenticeship programs in Northeast Ohio combine paid, on-the-job training with classroom instruction at state-of-the-art facilities.

Most programs take 3–5 years, and you start earning with benefits on day one.

  • Earn while you learn: paid training plus benefits from day one
  • College credit: programs are affiliated with colleges; tuition costs are covered by the affiliated unions
  • Strong wages: average starting pay around $16/hour; after completion, average $27.94/hour (~$58,000/year) plus full benefits
  • Career growth: move into roles like Journeyman, Foreman, Safety Director, and more
